Mr Scorpio

Impossible is nothing.

For those that are not aware, I have already completed a 10km competitive run and registered for another 10km and a 21km. Half a year ago, I would rather drop dead than run to catch a bus.

And if that isn’t crazy enough, we set up a football team and has already competed against two different teams. We even have team jerseys with our names printed on. So far things had been encouraging. We won 9-0 on the first match and drew 2-2 for the second.

Miraculously I scored in both game, albeit the one in the second match was an own goal.

Logistically it is a nightmare. Beside being the player, I am also the kit-man, treasurer and games organizer. Still it is quite an accomplishment to pull it off twice successfully. I have always been shy of such responsibility. Volunteering for the first time to wear 3 huge management hats concurrently again is quite against the old me.

And all these new things stemmed from a common belief, that I must do them before I turn 30.

Why so? I have no idea. As if I would become bed-ridden then and be forced to stay away from these sports. But the fact is the number 30 is motivating me to do things I otherwise would not even give a single thought about.

It brings me back to what my diploma lecturer had said before. What the mind can perceive, the body can achieve.

It really is possible and brought me to new experiences as I stepped out of my comfort zone and try something new. Even for my lunch today. I order brinjal and found out I actually like it!

So what you could conjure to really believe in could make you do what might previously be seemingly impossible.

You just need to find that motivation. For me, it is the number 30.
